For applications that are pushed to the limits on the track, BD offers their Dodge Solid Shaft Competition series - built to take the extreme horsepower and torque. Includes the industrys first solid input shaft to deliver the ultimate strength and reliability when in the midst of competition. Also features all hardened shafts, billet steal direct drum, one piece servo/cover, extra wide solid band with red lining, racer red forward/direct frictions, koline forward/direct steals, auxiliary filter kit and heavy duty pan. The solid shaft has been torsion tested in excess of 4000 ft-lbs without failure and uses a proprietary heat treatment and ultra-high strength VAR alloy along with the elimination of high stressed points at fluid ports and sealing grooves. New flow design delivers a fluid transfer rate that matches the OEM specs while reducing the restrictions common to larger shafts that reduce port diameters to provide slight strength increases. Direct hub spline length has been increased for additional clutch capacity. By increasing the clutch apply piston width we increase apply pressure, and, by decreasing piston thickness we can install up to 30% more clutch surface.
